Something’s Cukoo Allright

Something’s Cukoo Allright

Poor IAM. With each communication, with each email, they demonstrate more and more how little they know about our current work rules (some IAM campaigners and staffers don’t even think we have work rules).

Clearly they will grasp at any and every straw possible to lie to us and delude us, just so they have the potential opportunity to reach into our pockets and steal from us (to the tune of $14 million per year). Another nail in the coffin of the IAM campaign is the ridiculous “Something’s Cuckoo” email they sent out today.

The Machinists union doesn’t even understand the basic fundamental difference between our PPT and sick time at other airlines. This is one of those Delta Differences that other airlines can’t match.

Only Delta’s PPT time can be used for absences other than illness. The sick time at other airlines CANNOT be used as: extra vacation days; pre-plotted days off with pay; or for trip drops (TDOT) with pay. The sick time at the airlines the IAM lists in their chart CANNOT be paid out at the flight attendant’s option each year (to the tune of over $2,500). For a true apples to apples comparison, they would have to compare the Delta Certified Time with the other airlines’ sick time. And in true transparency, they would also have to include a separate column in their chart for PPT. Of course the entry in the IAM-negotiated PPT column would be a big fat ZERO, because that’s how many hours of PPT time IAM members enjoy.

Poor IAM. They keep racking up zeroes. How can they represent us if they don’t even know us?

Is there really ANYONE left who believes in their smoke and mirrors campaign?

Where is the COMPREHENSIVE comparison of pay, benefits and work rules? C’mon IAM! Gives us some truth and facts!

Please share this email with your friends and coworkers.

Sincerely,

Jose Arturo Ibarra
