More IAM Cuckoo

More IAM Cuckoo

Remember that ridiculous recent IAM mailer where they compared other airline sick leave banks to the Delta PPT bank (and completely disregarded our Certified Time, STD and LTD)?

Here’s a simple equation to show you just how deceptive the Machinists’ Union is by denying you the whole truth in their comparison.

While the Machinists state that the American sick bank tops out at 1,500 hours, they conveniently “forget” to tell us how long it would take to accrue 1,500 hours. The sick policy at American (in their so-called “industry leading” contract) allows for 36 hours of accrual per year. That’s 13 hours LESS than our PPT accrual. Every year.

It would take an American flight attendant 41 YEARS and 8 months to accrue 1,500 hours! That’s almost 42 years of NEVER CALLING IN SICK! And there is NO option to cash out the sick time.

In comparison, Delta flight attendants accrue 49 hours per year that they can cash out each and every year. Our hourly rate, with the profit sharing included came out to $60.67. Even with no pay raises (VERY unlikely!) cashing out that PPT for the next 41 years and 8 months would net Delta flight attendants an extra $123,868.25 that American and other flight attendants have NO chance at receiving. Add in the usual 3%-5% annual Delta pay raises and the industry’s most generous profit sharing plan and pretty soon we’re talking about some real money.

IAM is afraid of the truth because they can’t match the Delta Difference. Anywhere.

Don’t fall for the IAM hype and half-truths. Don’t be an IAM cuckoo. Be a Delta free bird!

Remember: you have to vote NO to be counted (in the event an election is called).
