By now we’ve all heard the stories of the bullying, attacks and haranguing that AFA so-called ‘supporters’ have launched against former union activists and flight attendants who have stood up to AFA corruption, incompetence and deception in the recent and not so recent past. In this email is the latest update from a group of United flight attendants who have renounced AFA and are supporting IAM in the representational campaign currently underway as a result of the United/Continental merger. The “United Flight Attendants for IAM Victory” hotline speaks for itself (and speaks volumes). More importantly, it drives home the point that many Delta flight attendants were smart to wear the AFA pin, even though they voted no to AFA representation. Further, this hotline reminds the rest of us, that anyone who still supports AFA, is also supporting anti-flight attendant attacks. How hypocritical that the union that was calling for “democratic” elections for the past three years still continues to practice coercion, graft, bullying, intimidation and suppression of very democratic principles of free speech and a secret ballot. And now, a reminder of what drama-filled life could be like for us if the NMB allows the Delta election to be run again:

AFA - "Another F alse Allegation"
Part I
Threats, intimidation, false allegations, and false arrests have been CWA-AFA's modus operandi since they prematurely pulled the trigger for the representation election during CAL's 2nd Tentative Agreement ratification vote. UAL flight attendants supporting the IAM were regularly stopped by AFA LEC's and told "you will vote for AFA if know what is good for you". IAM supporters' incident reports included being physically pushed, IAM pins being yanked off of uniform collars, and just recently, an organizer was cornered by 3 AFA supporters in the upper deck of the 747.
We have decided to do a report of the incidents and allegations by LEC's of the CWA-AFA, some as recent as Saturday morning in ORD, the second time another UAL IAM organizer was falsely arrested. This time our supporter was awakened by police officers with fully drawn weapons at approximately 8:00 AM at his own home on June 11th. He is the second victim of false allegations stemming from a similar incident instigated by ORD LEC VP, Kathy Browne, in ORD on May 8th, 2011.
The ORD Incident against an IAM organizer on May 8th
Allegedly, ORD LEC VP, Kathy Browne, slammed both her hands down on the IAM organizer's hands, as he was taking an AFA flyer from the AFA table to read. While he was trying to remove his hand from hers, she screamed "he assaulted me" and immediately called the police. The police arrived to take statements from both parties and several witnesses. Kathy Browne rushed herself to the hospital claiming arm injury. On May 25th, the organizer was arrested while disembarking from a working flight while in uniform in front of crew and passengers, handcuffed, and taken into police custody. Two other IAM organizers were questioned and all were taken to ORD police station for questioning. The organizer who was arrested was later released on $100 bail. They were also accused of making "death threats" by AFA LEC VP, Kathy Browne, but no evidence or record of any threats were found by the ORD police on any of the confiscated cell phones. In a court hearing on the morning of June 13th, the Judge dismissed all charges against the IAM organizer arrested on May 25th!
ORD False Arrest on June 11th
However, on June 11th, early Saturday morning, a different IAM organizer from ORD was awakened by 6-8 armed police officers, for making death threats against ORD AFA LEC. They handcuffed, arrested, and booked the organizer based on false allegations of making "terroristic threats". Once again, while his cell phone was confiscated, there was absolutely no evidence to indicate that any of these organizers ever made any threats to anyone and he was released on $150 bail. Incident reports indicate that ORD AFA LEC VP Kathy Browne is married to a Chicago police officer.
These are serious matters when the CWA-AFA officers elected to represent and protect your interests, find themselves busy staging incidents across the system to provoke and instigate arrests of UAL flight attendants that support the IAM. It is a clear violation of the duty of fair representation by the union claiming to be a flight attendants union for flight attendants.
