Your unique PIN number
On Mar. 1, each U.S.- based PMNW flight attendant will receive an e-mail to their delta.com e-mail address containing a unique PIN number which will be required for participating in the PMNW IFS Seniority Integration Committee nomination and voting processes. A similar message containing your PIN number will also be sent via U.S. mail to your address on file.
Please make a note of your PIN number and keep it in a secured place. The PIN will be used twice - for the nomination process and the voting process.
Casting your nomination
On Mar. 1 a link to the PMNW Seniority Integration Committee nomination website will be available on the Moving Forward Portal page. In order to access the website, you will be prompted to enter your PIN number, your employee number and your base location. Once granted access to the site, you will be able to:
- Self nominate within your base
- Nominate a peer within your base
The nomination window will close at 11:59 PM ET Mar. 14.
Nominations/votes will be conducted via an automated web-based process administered by a third party. The nomination/election results will be verified by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Delta will not have access to the nomination or voting information other than the results. See below for a complete calendar of dates.
Lose your PIN or having trouble?
If you’ve deleted your e-mail containing your Seniority Integration Committee nomination/election PIN, you may be able to retrieve it by accessing your deleted mail folder in Outlook Web Access (OWA) mail folder. Simply check to see if it is still in your “Deleted Items” mail folder on the left-hand side. COMMITTEE DETAILS
Q1. What is the role of the committee?
A1. The role of the committee is to research, analyze, review and recommend a fair and equitable integration of the seniority lists of the combined, post-merger flight attendant group.
Q2. How will the flight attendant seniority integration committee be selected?
A2. The committee will be peer elected. Flight attendants will have an opportunity to vote for flight attendants in their respective bases.
Q3. How many flight attendants per base will be elected to the committee?
A3. There will be 12 PMNW flight attendants on the committee, with at least one representative from each base and roughly one representative per 1,000 flight attendants at the larger bases.
Q4. Will flight attendants in the Chicago satellite base have representation on the committee?
A4. Flight attendants based in the Chicago satellite base are eligible for nomination or to self nominate as part of their host base but not as representatives from the Chicago satellite.
Q5. How was the number of committee members per base determined?
A5. There will be at least one representative from each base and roughly one representative per 1,000 flight attendants at the larger bases.
Q6. Will PMDL flight attendants be on the committee?
A6. PMDL flight attendants chose their members for the seniority integration committee (SIC) in 2009 using the same process which is being used to elect the PMNW members. The members will work together to share their findings and to recommend a fair and equitable seniority integration method.
Q7. Will the committee make the final decision?
A7. The final decision requires the agreement of both the PMDL and PMNW flight attendants together with Delta management.
Q8. Will the concerns of my seniority level be addressed by the committee?
A8. The committee will work towards recommending a process that is most fair and equitable to all flight attendants in all seniority groups.
Q9. Will all seniority groups be represented?
A9. Yes, the committee will be responsible for considering the fair and equitable integration of the seniority list of all flight attendants within all seniority groups.
Q10. Will all bases be represented?
A10. Yes.
Q11. Will flight attendants have a say in who is on the committee?
A11. Yes. Flight attendants will have an opportunity to nominate and to vote for flight attendants from their base who they want on the committee.
Q12. Will all flight attendants be eligible to participate on the committee?
A12. All PMNW flight attendants are eligible to either nominate a peer or to self nominate.
Q13. Will the committee member’s names be available and will flight attendants be able to communicate with the committee?
A13. Yes. Once the voting period closes and the committee members are elected, the names of the flight attendants who received the greatest number of votes in each base will be posted on the IFS Portal along with their contact information.
Q14. If I am not on the committee, will I still have input and be able to share my thoughts with the committee members?
A14. Yes. The names and contact information of flight attendants who have been elected will be posted on the IFS Portal.
Q15. How will the committee communicate its progress?
A15. The committee will provide periodic updates as appropriate throughout the process via the IFS Portal.
Q16. What is the role of the flight attendants who will be elected as alternates?
A16. Flight attendants elected as alternates will be available to assume the duties of core team members in the event extenuating circumstances cause them to relinquish their position or to be unable to perform the required responsibilities.
Q17. Will committee members be elected based on the highest total number of votes received?
A17. Yes.
Q18. How will alternates be elected?
A18. After the core committee members have been elected based on the number of votes received, flight attendants elected as alternates will have received the next highest number of votes.
Q19. How often will the committee meet?
A19. A final schedule of committee meetings has not been set although meetings will likely be held weekly, 2 – 3 consecutive days per week.
Q20. Once the committee makes its recommendation, what are the next steps?
A20. Delta management will review the committee’s recommendation and determine whether to accept it or discus possible modifications. Once agreement is reached the timing of implementation may depend on the status of the AFA’s interference claims.
Q21. If elected, how long will I be expected to be on the committee?
A21. Due to the amount of work that must be completed by the committee, the team should expect to be together for at least 1 to 3 months.
Q22. How will I be paid if elected to be on the committee?
A22. Flight attendants elected to be on the committee will be paid an average of their prior 12-months earnings, including leadership and language premiums, but not to exceed 110 hours per month. Time away from base will not be considered in the average.
Q23. Will all the meetings be held in ATL?
A23. Yes.
Q24. What kind of support and resources will I have while on the committee?
A24. In addition to support from the leadership team, the committee will have full access to both pre-merger Delta and pre-merger Northwest flight attendant seniority lists, and to appropriate professional, and administrative resources and support.
NOMINATION PROCESS
Q1. Once nominated, will I be able to campaign?
A1. Yes. All nominees will be able to post a brief statement on the IFS Portal summarizing why he/she wants to be elected to serve on the committee.
Q2. If I am nominated but do not want to be considered for election to the committee by my peers, will I be able to opt out of the process?
A2. Once the nomination window closes, you will receive an e-mail if you have been nominated. You will have one week to respond to the e-mail indicating you either accept or decline the nomination. If you have not responded to the e-mail by the deadline, your name will not be placed on the final list for voting. Due to technology constraints names cannot be added to or removed from the final list once voting begins.
Q3. How will flight attendants know who has been nominated from their respective bases?
A3. All candidates’ names will be posted on the IFS Portal.
Q4. How long will the nomination process last?
A4. The nomination process will last approximately two (2) weeks from the time the nomination window opens.
Q5. Can I nominate or vote for a flight attendant in a base other than my current domicile or host base if participating in a Satellite Base?
A5. No.
Q6. Can I nominate myself?
A6. Yes.
Q7. How do I nominate myself or someone else?
A7. You received a unique PIN via e-mail and by U.S. mail to the address you have on file with Delta. A link is available on the Moving Forward page that will take you to a secure site where you will enter your 6-digit Delta employee number and your pin. Once on the site, you will be able to nominate yourself or a PMNW flight attendant from your base.
NOTE: PLEASE KEEP YOUR PIN IN A SECURE LOCATION – YOU WILL NEED IT IN ORDER TO VOTE ONCE THE NOMINATION PROCESS IS COMPLETE.
VOTING PROCESS
Q1. How many times can I vote for flight attendants in my base?
A1. It depends. If your base has one representative, then you can vote for one flight attendant in your base. If your base will have more than one representative on the committee, then you can vote for the number of flight attendants who will represent your bases on the committee. However, you cannot vote for the same person multiple times. For example, if MSP has two flight attendants on the committee and you are based in MSP, then you can vote for two (2) different flight attendants.
Q2. How long will the voting process last?
A2. The voting process will last for approximately three (3) weeks from the time the voting period begins.
Q3. Will I be able to campaign for election to the committee?
A3. Yes, whether you are nominated or self nominate, you will have an opportunity to place your campaign statement on the Portal.
Q4. How will the votes be counted?
A4. Once the voting window closes, the votes will be tallied by an outside firm and the voting results will be verified by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Q5. Will flight attendants have to identify themselves to be able to vote?
A5. Yes, flight attendants will be required to provide employee number and base.
Q6. Will employee numbers and base information be verified prior to announcing the results of the election?
A6. Yes.
